What makes a deck F2P-viable?
A free-to-play deck needs to be assembled from cards in 1–2 packs with minimal full-art chase requirements. The decks below all clear that bar AND remain competitive at Ultra Ball or higher.
1. Mega Lucario EX — the F2P king
Mega Lucario EX is the single best F2P pick in the format. The deck needs 1x Mega Lucario EX, 2x Lucario, 2x Riolu and consistency Trainers — all obtainable in a week of focused Mega Evolution pulls. The type advantage into multiple meta decks means you can climb without ever upgrading.
2. Miraidon EX Magnezone — long-term investment
Slightly more demanding (needs a Magneton/Magnezone evolution line) but pays off massively. Once built, it's a Tier S deck capable of taking you all the way to Master Ball. Pull Paradox Ansturm exclusively until the line is complete.
3. Suicune EX Baxcalibur — the budget control pick
Heavy on Trainers, light on flashy EX requirements. The consistency engine carries the deck — most matches end before you ever need to hit a perfect topdeck. Great for players who prefer thinking over racing.
Avoid these F2P traps
Skip Mega Absol Hydreigon, Flygon EX Sylveon EX and Mega Altaria EX Greninja for your first month. They require multiple chase EX cards across two different packs — far too expensive without spending.
