The release of Team Rocket’s Ambition will be accompanied by a new wave of Team Rocket-themed events in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Following the reveal of the new B4a themed booster pack, information about the upcoming event schedule gives us an early look at what players can expect from late August through September 2026. The lineup includes a Team Rocket’s Ambition Emblem Event, Team Rocket’s Special Assignments, a Team Rocket’s Lapras Drop Event, and a Fennekin & Meowstic Wonder Pick Event. New Team Rocket-themed accessories featuring Giovanni and Persian are also on the way. Here is everything we currently know about the upcoming Pokémon TCG Pocket events.
Team Rocket’s Ambition Emblem Event
A new Team Rocket’s Ambition Emblem Event is expected to begin in late August and continue into mid-September. Emblem Events are Pokémon TCG Pocket’s PvP-focused events. Players compete against other players and work toward the event requirements to unlock exclusive profile emblems. The new event will appropriately feature Team Rocket’s Ambition-themed rewards, giving players another way to display their progress during the B4a expansion period. The exact event dates, win requirements and complete reward structure have not yet been revealed.
Team Rocket’s Special Assignments
Alongside the PvP event, Pokémon TCG Pocket is expected to introduce Team Rocket’s Special Assignments from late August through mid-September. Special Assignments provide players with additional objectives to complete while playing the game and typically offer useful rewards for progressing through their missions. The exact missions and rewards for the Team Rocket edition have not yet been confirmed, so we will have to wait for the full event details before knowing exactly what players can earn.
Team Rocket’s Lapras Drop Event
One of the most interesting events coming in September is the Team Rocket’s Lapras Drop Event, currently expected to run from early September through mid-September. Drop Events are PvE events in which players battle against a series of special CPU-controlled event decks. These battles generally increase in difficulty and provide opportunities to obtain Promo Packs containing limited-time promotional cards. The featured card for this event will be Team Rocket’s Lapras. The previewed promo card has 90 HP and features unique Team Rocket artwork, making it one of the first event rewards tied directly to the Team Rocket’s Ambition period. Players who want to collect the promo card will therefore want to keep an eye on the event once it becomes available.
Fennekin & Meowstic Wonder Pick Event
Later in September, the focus will temporarily shift away from Team Rocket with a new Fennekin & Meowstic Wonder Pick Event. The event is currently expected to run from mid-September through late September and will feature special Fennekin and Meowstic promo cards available through Wonder Pick. Players will have opportunities to encounter the promotional cards through the event’s Wonder Picks, alongside additional event missions and rewards. The preview also shows a selection of colorful Fennekin-themed accessories, giving players additional cosmetic rewards to collect during the event period.
New Giovanni & Persian Accessories Are Coming
Team Rocket fans will have even more to collect beyond cards and event rewards. New cosmetics featuring Giovanni and Persian have also been previewed for Pokémon TCG Pocket. The artwork heavily embraces Team Rocket’s black-and-red visual identity and fits directly alongside the upcoming Team Rocket’s Ambition expansion. One design prominently features Giovanni alongside Persian, while another places the Team Rocket boss at the center of a dramatic red-and-black scene surrounded by Pokémon cards. These cosmetics should give players several new options for customizing their profile and battle presentation during the Team Rocket expansion period.
A Busy September for Pokémon TCG Pocket
Team Rocket’s Ambition is shaping up to be much more than just another booster pack release. Between the new expansion, PvP Emblem Event, Special Assignments, Lapras Drop Event, Wonder Pick promos and new cosmetics, players should have plenty of limited-time content to work through during September. The Team Rocket’s Lapras promo will likely be one of the most notable rewards for collectors, while the Fennekin and Meowstic event gives players another pair of promotional cards to chase later in the month. More importantly, several of these events overlap, meaning the Team Rocket’s Ambition launch should lead directly into weeks of additional Pokémon TCG Pocket content.
