## Edo Tensei Hoki Deck Guide – Orochimaru's Reanimation Strategy
Edo Tensei is one of the most interesting mechanics in Naruto: Ninja Cards, allowing Orochimaru to bring powerful legendary shinobi onto the battlefield through carefully prepared withdrawals.
This experimental deck combines **Orochimaru's Edo Tensei**, **Hashirama Senju**, **Tobirama Senju**, and the event card **Hoki** to explore a strategy built around Chakra manipulation, controlled sacrifices, and maintaining pressure across all three lanes.
Unlike a conventional deck focused on deploying individually powerful cards, this build attempts to generate value from cards leaving the battlefield.
### The Core Combo: Orochimaru and Edo Tensei
Orochimaru is the centerpiece of the deck.
When deployed, his Edo Tensei skill applies Weaken(2) to the two allied cards with the lowest Chakra. His skill also describes summoning Edo Hashirama and Tobirama from the deck for each withdrawal, granting them Rush.
This makes preparation essential. Low-Chakra allies can serve as sacrifice targets, while Hashirama and Tobirama provide powerful follow-up presence.
Both Edo Hokage also feature Edo Regeneration, gradually restoring their Chakra when it falls below their base value.
### Why Hoki Is Interesting
Hoki introduces a different form of Chakra manipulation.
When deployed, Hoki checks whether allied cards have a combined Chakra of at least 5 in each lane. If the condition is met, Hoki applies a powerful Weaken effect to the rival card with the highest Chakra.
Afterward, all allied cards lose 2 Chakra.
This makes Hoki a potential battlefield reset tool. The global Chakra reduction can remove weakened allied units while simultaneously threatening a high-Chakra enemy.
However, Hoki's effect requires careful timing. Deploying Hoki too early can destroy your own setup, while deploying him without enough Chakra in every lane can prevent his primary Weaken effect from activating.
**Important:** Whether withdrawals caused by Hoki can independently activate Orochimaru's Edo Tensei summoning effect requires in-game verification. The deck does not rely on that interaction being guaranteed.
### Supporting Cards and Their Roles
**Student Trio** provides additional value when withdrawn by redeploying as Konohamaru, Moegi, and Udon across the lanes.
**Oboro** creates clones that can contribute to board development and potentially generate further value through their withdrawal effects.
**Naruto Uzumaki** generates clones in other lanes, helping distribute allied units across the battlefield.
**Jirobo** strengthens the next Orochimaru deployed with additional Chakra, improving his staying power.
**Sakon & Ukon** help establish a more resilient board through their multi-lane deployment and Guard effects.
**Kaiza** rewards withdrawals by granting Chakra to surviving allies, helping preserve your remaining board after a sacrifice.
### The Win Condition
The objective is to create an advantageous board through Orochimaru's reanimation effect, then maintain control with the Edo Hokage and supporting units.
Hoki adds a secondary way to disrupt enemy formations, particularly when an opponent concentrates too much Chakra into one powerful card.
The deck rewards careful sequencing rather than simply playing the most expensive card available.
### Final Thoughts
Edo Tensei Hoki is an experimental synergy deck for players who enjoy sacrifice mechanics, multi-lane planning, and powerful reanimation effects.
Orochimaru remains the primary win condition, while Hoki provides an additional tactical option for manipulating Chakra and disrupting the opponent's strongest unit.
With the correct setup, this deck can create exciting board swings. Its ultimate consistency will depend on the exact in-game interactions and the timing of its key cards.
