The Toad Army deck is built around filling the battlefield with Toads and turning that board presence into Chakra, pressure and a powerful Burn finish.

Unlike a pure Burn deck, the main engine starts with the Toad cards themselves. Gama – Toad Scroll can Summon a random Toad directly from your deck and give it Chakra(+1), helping you establish the Toad engine without having to deploy every piece manually.

Once multiple Toads are active, the different members of the army begin supporting each other. Gamatatsu – Food Motivated can repeatedly grant Chakra(+2) to other allied Toads during Focus by spending available energy, while Gamakichi – Loudmouth gives allied Toads Push(1) on encounters and gains Chakra whenever a Toad pushes a rival.

Gamahiro – Heft is one of the biggest payoffs for building a wide Toad board. When deployed, he gains Chakra(+2) for each allied Toad, meaning his value increases dramatically when you establish the army before playing him.

The deck then transitions from Toad setup into Burn pressure. Jiraiya – Toad Oil Flamethrower applies Burn to every rival card and can apply another large Burn effect if his Focus succeeds. Gamabunta – Toad Oil Combo is the natural follow-up, applying Burn to lane rivals and immediately triggering the remaining Burn amount on rivals that are already burning.

The result is a deck with two connected game plans: build a growing Toad army first, then convert that board into an explosive Burn finish.

Gama – Toad Scroll is one of your main setup cards. On deploy, Gama Summons a random Toad from your deck and gives that Toad Chakra(+1). Because several of your key cards are Toads, this can accelerate your board development while pulling another piece of the engine directly into play.

Gamatatsu – Food Motivated is your primary Toad Chakra engine. On deploy, Gamatatsu enters Focus(12s). Every four seconds during that Focus, he can spend 1 energy, if available, to give the other allied Toads Chakra(+2). The more Toads you already have active, the more valuable these triggers can become.

This means Gamatatsu is usually much more interesting after you have established other Toads rather than as an isolated card.

Gamakichi – Loudmouth provides a completely different type of scaling. While he is active, allied Toads apply Push(1) during encounters. Gamakichi then gains Chakra(+1) whenever a Toad pushes a rival. With several Toads active and reaching encounters, this can create repeated value while also disrupting rival positioning.

Gamahiro – Heft is your major board-state payoff. When deployed, he gains Chakra(+2) for each allied Toad. Try to avoid deploying Gamahiro too early if you have a realistic opportunity to establish additional Toads first. The difference between an empty board and an established Toad Army can make his deployment significantly more powerful.

Jiraiya – Toad Oil Flamethrower starts the deck's Burn finish. On deploy, he applies Burn(3) to all rival cards and then enters Focus(8s). While he is focusing, he gains Chakra(+1) whenever allied cards apply Burn. If the Focus succeeds, he applies another Burn(4) to all rival cards.

Gamabunta – Toad Oil Combo is especially dangerous after Burn has already been established. He applies Burn(3) to all lane rivals when deployed. If those rivals are already affected by Burn, their remaining Burn amount is immediately triggered.

This makes deployment order extremely important:

Build Toads → establish Burn → deploy Gamabunta into already burning rivals.

Hiruzen Sarutobi – Fire Dragon Bombs gives the deck another way to start Burn while also applying Weaken(3) to the closest rival. Sasuke Uchiha – Fireball Training rewards you for having multiple burning rivals by gaining Chakra(+1) for each rival affected by Burn when deployed.

Naruto Uzumaki – Sexy Jutsu provides a cheap Pin option that can temporarily stop a Mid Range rival while you continue building your Toad engine or prepare the Burn sequence.

Jiraiya – Toad Mouth Trap gives you another form of control by applying Pin(6s) to every card on his lane. Remember that this includes your own cards as well, so positioning and timing matter.

Do not rush Gamahiro onto an empty board. His deploy effect scales with the number of allied Toads, so he becomes substantially more valuable after your Toad engine is established.

Think about Gama's remaining summon pool. Toad Scroll summons a random Toad from your deck, so which Toads are still available in the deck changes the possible result.

Gamatatsu wants friends. His Food Motivated effect gives Chakra to other allied Toads, not himself. Deploying him when several Toads are already active gives his Focus significantly more potential value.

Watch your energy during Gamatatsu's Focus. His repeated Chakra effect requires spending 1 energy when available. Building the biggest possible Toad board is not always worth it if you leave yourself unable to pay for the effect.

Use Gamabunta after Burn whenever possible. His ability to immediately trigger remaining Burn is what makes Toad Oil Combo particularly threatening against already burning rivals.

Jiraiya can set up Gamabunta across the entire rival board. Toad Oil Flamethrower applies Burn(3) to all rival cards, giving you multiple potential targets for the later Gamabunta deployment.

Hiruzen is your secondary Burn starter. Fire Dragon Bombs gives you a way to establish Burn without relying exclusively on Jiraiya.

Be careful with Toad Mouth Trap. Pin(6s) affects every card on the lane, including your own. Use it when stopping the rival board is worth temporarily locking your own cards as well.

You don't always need the full army. If the opponent gives you an opportunity for a strong Jiraiya → Gamabunta sequence, taking that immediate Burn payoff can be better than waiting for the perfect Toad setup.
