The card shown during the presentation features an Ability named Aura Seeker and an attack named Dancing Fist. Aura Seeker appears designed around searching the deck when Mega Lucario Z ex moves into the Active Spot, potentially giving the card a valuable consistency role in addition to its attacking capabilities. The Mega Attack Rare Style Explained
Mega Attack Rare cards are particularly easy to recognize because the attack name becomes part of the artwork itself. The treatment deliberately recalls the original Mega Evolution Pokémon-EX cards from the XY era, which famously displayed large Japanese attack text across their illustrations. The modern Mega Attack Rare treatment takes that concept considerably further with colorful, full-art compositions built around the attack typography. From a competitive Pokémon TCG Live perspective, the artwork itself is secondary. What will ultimately matter is the underlying playable version of each Pokémon ex: its HP, attacks, Energy requirements, Abilities, Weakness and how effectively it can be incorporated into existing or entirely new archetypes.
Sigilyph ex Also Revealed
Mega Evolution Pokémon were not the only cards shown. Sigilyph ex was also displayed during the presentation. The card shown has 210 HP and features the Ability Mega Protection, which protects your Benched Pokémon from damage caused by attacks from your opponent's Mega Evolution Pokémon ex. That immediately makes Sigilyph ex an interesting potential tech card if Mega Evolution Pokémon ex become dominant attackers in the competitive format. Its attack, Power Cyclone, deals 140 damage and allows an Energy attached to Sigilyph ex to be moved to one of your Benched Pokémon. Rather than being built purely as a main attacker, Sigilyph ex could therefore have value as a defensive or utility Pokémon in particular metagames.
Could Sigilyph ex Become a Pokémon TCG Live Tech Card?
Sigilyph ex is arguably one of the more interesting reveals from a purely competitive perspective. Bench damage and spread attacks can be extremely important in Pokémon TCG because they allow an opponent to prepare future Knock Outs, finish damaged Pokémon without attacking them directly, or manipulate the Prize trade. An Ability that prevents attack damage to the Bench from Mega Evolution Pokémon ex could therefore become relevant whenever Mega decks with strong spread-damage options occupy a significant share of the metagame. There is a trade-off, however: Sigilyph ex itself takes up deck and Bench space and, as a Pokémon ex, can potentially become a multi-Prize liability. Whether it deserves a slot will depend heavily on which Mega Evolution decks become popular. That makes Sigilyph ex exactly the type of card competitive players should remember when evaluating a future meta, even if it does not immediately become a staple.
When Will These Cards Be Released?
The Japanese post circulating alongside the reveals mentions possible connections to upcoming Japanese products and set codes, but some of those release placements are speculation rather than confirmed information from The Pokémon Company. For example, Aura Seeker has previously been reported as an upcoming Japanese expansion scheduled for November 27, 2026, with reporting connecting the set to Mega Lucario Z ex. However, players should not assume that every card shown during the presentation belongs to the same expansion, nor should speculative Japanese set placements automatically be treated as confirmed international release information. The eventual English-language expansion structure may also combine or redistribute cards from Japanese releases.
